Berlin Demography Days

Monday, 16 May 2022 to Wednesday 18 May 2022

At the Berlin Demography Days, we invite international experts from the fields of politics, science and society to discuss salient issues of demographic change. Over three days, we will focus on population developments in Germany, Europe and the world.

This year’s Berlin Demography Days from 16-18 May 2022 will be dedicated to the topic of ‘younger people’. Among other things, we will focus on generational fairness and social participation, the consequences of the COVID pandemic and resilience, the importance of the early years of life for the course of life and policy strategies with younger people at their center.

The organisers of the event are Diakonie Deutschland and Population Europe, the network of leading European research institutions in the field of population sciences in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Home Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Health.

Partners of this year’s Berlin Demography Days are the German Youth Institute, the European Association for Population Studies, the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
